Educational Supports & Resources

Millbrook First Nation’s Educational Services works closely with our own staff and external service providers to ensure every student’s needs are met. We understand that each child learns differently and may require additional support to reach their full potential. From early education onward, we help students connect to a range of learning supports designed to help children succeed and build a strong foundation for future years. In addition, cultural enrichment and guidance through our Mi’kmaw Student Support workers helps students build a strong foundation for their educational journey.

We provide the services of a Speech Pathologist and a Social Worker for students enrolled at Millbrook Early Education Centre.

Circle of Care

Regular Circle of Care meetings are held with principals and support workers to identify student needs and plan supports. In addition, the Director of Educational Services hosts a quarterly meeting with external partners—such as the Colchester County Regional Centre for Education, the Millbrook Health Centre, EMO, RCMP, school principals, and Elders—to coordinate services and strengthen collaboration.

Learning and Behavioural Assessments

When parents request assessments, our Educational Services team collaborates with the Millbrook Health Centre and, under Jordan’s Principle policy, with external partners to ensure timely and equitable access to supports. For more information, contact Millbrook’s Educational Services Office.
